Tour Tempo co-creator John Novosel, Jr., is your personal instructor for the Tour Tempo Masterclass, the ultimate on-demand videos series for playing your best with the Tour Tempo app.
Been using TT for the past 3 years seriously. Since I began playing 30 years ago (I am 73) I have had a terribly fast backswing. TT has allowed me to slow it down. I am now a far more consistent player.
To be honest it has taken me awhile to couple my swing with the tones. Now it is fun because I can move the times around.
Really helps with the short game!
For me, the 'jury is still out', thus I rated it a 3 for now. Everything looks really good and I'm working on some of the exercise/drill videos, and trying to straighten my lead arm, as you have recommended to me, I feel that I'm improving and hitting the ball better. Let me get another video of myself in the next week and see where I'm at, after which I'll be in a better position to rate the product. Sorry for the delay.
Well organized. Like the pre-defined programs, I.e, programs where you just tell me what to do after the videos telling how and why. I have uses the previous program and now this one 3 times a week every week for a few years.; is this why people comment on how “flexible” I am even though I don’t feel so?
I've only had a handful of sessions on my back lawn and three rounds since I got the app. Still coming to grips with the short game, but my long game has improved out of sight. I'm a fit 75 year old 18 handicap. Last week I hit nine out of nine fairways where I hit driver. Average distance is up due to fewer mishits, my best drives are about 15 to 20 metres longer. With the irons I'm now hitting seven iron from 150 meters instead of five iron. No mechanical swing thoughts now, only target and tempo. I truly believe i can get to single figures now.
I am a work-in-progress on a couple of things, including my swing tempo. Re-learning the proper weight shift to my left side, after 16-17 years of protecting a very bad knee (which is now titanium!), is my co-dependent effort to coincide with the tempo change. The information in the Master Class is quite helpful, and I believe it is helping. I'll have a better idea in a month or so.
I’ve been using the Tour Tempo for about two weeks. I feel my swing speed has increased, by speeding up the tempo from 27/9 to 21/7, which seems to be quite a bit faster. I’m only hitting into a net in my garage without a launch monitor, but I can feel the difference. By springtime I’m hoping to be 10 - 20 yards longer, with my driver.
The master class has a lot of helpful videos on how to get the most out of the Tour Tempo app. Along with drills and resistance training to increase your swing speed. Everything feels the same when you swing, it’s just FASTER! I can’t wait to get outside and see the results.
I like short game work but struggle with long game. It’s tough to work on getting into proper positions and swing to the tempos.
Over time I think it will help but typically when I spend time working on the long game tones my swing goes to shit.
Well, Ive had the tour tempo materials for 20 years, including the originals. I found the course material served up (although not fully reveiwed) as nearly all DRILLS. The science behind the 3 to 1 seemed lost in translation.......especially the issue of 3 to 1 AND now under 1 second. I cant find the video with the rationale for this under one second . Also, this places, in my opinion, a premium on a 24 /8 or less cadence in order for a 70 year old with a driver head speed of 80 plus mph in order to accomplish the swing in less than one second. Junior suggested to me in an email to work on recoding........but these are all drills. Also, most people dont have access to the elastic band that junior highlights in allot of the recoding drills. So I would really like more on the scientific strategy and rationale for some of the recommendations for under one second and how to accomplish this. Mr FOX
Tour Tempo’s Master Class is one of the most impactful golf instruction programs I’ve experienced. Instead of overloading you with swing thoughts, it simplifies the game by focusing on rhythm and sequencing—two fundamentals that instantly translate to better ball striking. The concepts are easy to understand, but more importantly, they’re easy to feel and apply.
What really sets the Master Class apart is how quickly it produces results. The drills and audio cues create a natural, repeatable tempo that takes tension out of the swing and promotes consistency. It works just as well for full swings as it does for wedges and the short game, which makes it incredibly versatile.
The instruction is clear, practical, and grounded in how elite players actually swing the club. Whether you’re a low-handicap player looking for precision or a mid-handicap golfer searching for consistency, Tour Tempo gives you a simple framework you can rely on under pressure.
Tour Tempo works! The books, app, drills, workouts, and techniques delivered 2 transformations my game this summer:
Transformation 1) ball striking - tour tempo keeps evwrything balanced and clubface in a predictable location…. (i’m a 24/8 with irons and 21/7 with driver). I listen to the templ songs on the way to course, and while im on the range or playing a practice round.
Transformation 2) swing speed - i went from 96mph, to 104mph, to 113mph, to my current 116mph just this with about 20 minutes of time, theee times a week for the last 3 months.
This is the most valuable golf insight and instruction available to recreational golfers like me
My golf instructor turned me onto the Tour Tempo app. I've been using it on the range at my club. A few days I forgot to bring my earbuds with me. So I had to play the tempo sound quietly on my phone speaker while I hit balls. Nonetheless, other players wanted to know what that sound was and I explained the 3:1 tempo. After watching me consistently flush straight shots, 3 of these guys went and purchased the app. And they are spreading the word. These guys are my club competition. Maybe I shouldn't have helped them. :-)
I'm still learning everything involved, but I can say it has helped my ball striking consistency. No longer thinking mechanics, just swinging the club and letting good tempo do all the work.
Thanks John.
The Tour Tempo class is a great addition to the original class. It's only been a few weeks, but there is noticable improvement in my swing mechanics. I appreciate the Tour Tempo app and class.
Enjoyed the videos and the challenge, will work this experience into my practice regime, I'm hearing the tones as normal part of day now, using the tones, is my swing thought now.
Thank you
I just started and already like how it has allowed me to swing the club without any swing thoughts. I am still trying to find my tempo, but I know that this will definitely help me. Thank you
Its still a work in progress...I've found that I have needed to work up to a bit of a faster tempo than I had been trying to use, in order to get more distance as I age. Fingers are crossed on this one!
Total Game-Changer.
As someone who has played golf for years and spent countless hours tweaking mechanics, working on skills and technique, I can honestly say nothing has made as big an impact on my game as Tour Tempo, the Masterclass and the Recode for Power programs.
The brilliance of if is the simplicity - John delivers information in a way that’s easy to understand and immediately actionable.
I gained distance and improved my ball striking without a massive swing overhaul. Highly recommended for any golfer serious about improving. This isn’t just another bunch of swing tips - Tour Tempo is constantly innovative and outside the box when it comes to getting better at golf.
