My exchange of emails with Matt:

February 14, 2006

John,

First off I'd like to thank you for producing a great product that lives up to it's billing.

As this is the third attempt at writing an email to you about my experience thus far (the first two were WAY too long), I'll keep it short.

5 days of work, 36 minutes per session.

12 minutes of Y and L drills with the basic target

12 minutes of full swings with the basic, medium and large power modules, 5 swings each, in a circular rotation

12 minutes basic target in the "down" position.

The entire session is done with the 24/8 track playing.

It took several sessions to get the "down" position working but by the third session I made 15 out of 20. Lost it on the 4th session but hit 23 out of 25 on the fifth.

Scheduled a 4some last Saturday. I didn't hit any balls intentionally during the training just to go into the round with no pre-conceived notions. I intentionally invited a very long hitter, a very good (3 handicap) player and one guy that I knew was deadly with his iron game. I hadn't played for about 4 months, I'm a 18 handicap and a fairly long but very erratic hitter.

By the 19th hole, here are the results:

I out distanced everyone on every 4 and 5 par hole except for 1. I hit every fairway in regulation. My best drive was 8' off the green on a par 4, 324 yd hole. I drove on the green at every par 3. My short game stinks.

Honestly John, I was in position to birdie or par every hole. I reached a par 5, 565 in 2!

The guys were absolutely amazed at the difference in my game (short game aside). The long hitter was baffled at how a smooth "slow" swing was going further than his "monster" swing and actually landing on the fairway as opposed to his "monster" slices landing in the yards of homes adjacent to the fairways.

Now if you can come-up with a short game teaching tool!!

Great product/s John and feel free to use any of this in any way you see fit. In fact, if you have any potential customers resisting purchasing any of your products let them have my email address and I'll fill them in.

Thanks again,

Matt – Prescott Valley, Arizona

Well, that got my attention, as we had just received some advance units of the Player.  I then told Matt that we had something new that would help his short game; it would be available to the public in about a couple of months, but if he wanted to try it, he could buy an advance prototype.  His reply:

  John,

My interest in the "short game" trainer is beyond piqued..can you give me a two sentence or so synopsis of what it entails. Not that it matters that much as I'm a readily available crash test dummy :).

Thanks again for such great products!

Matt,

As I'm a readily available crash test dummy :).

You are totally cracking me up!    Thanks, I am chuckling as I write.

For your eyes only - Basically, we have a new dvd and product that shows how to use Tour Tempo for the short game and long game.

In the process of inventing the product, I discovered that a different ratio exists for the short game, so we developed the tones for that and the dvd shows you exactly how to use for short game.  I think that no matter what your short game situation is, this will improve it.

Now to the present.

Prior to receiving the "TOUR TEMPO PLAYER", I had several of the best all around games I've had in a very long time. My problem was in the short game (chipping, pitching, sand play). After several emails, you sent me the PLAYER. Following is my full review:

1. DVD: Very well produced, easy interface, very beneficial.

One question, which I believe you covered in a previous CD was at what point you go from the short game tones to the full swing tones. I believe it's at the 1/2 swing, but a little clarification would be helpful.

2. The "PLAYER": Great concept!! Works like a charm.  Easy to operate

3. Practice:  I've spent about 4 total hours just working on the short game tones since I received the Player. As I work very near a golf course, I've spent several lunches at the chipping green. The bottom line is that it seems to have helped my short game tremendously!!

4. On the course: I've played twice since I've had the Player. the first was alone, after work with the tones playing the entire round on every shot. As I've been a little negligent on the full swing practice I  wasn't quite as consistent as before, but the short game was what I was concerned with anyway....Bottom line was that every chip was on the green and at least put me in position to score. I had two sand shots, both came out of the bunker on the first shot. As the course conditions were very tight, I didn't have the opportunity to try the "flop".

All told, it was the best short game round I've had in a very long time. I didn't keep score.

The second round was last Saturday. Let's just say that on the 8th tee I was 1 under. 37 on the front nine, 40 on the back. First time I've broken 80 since my college days (19 years ago). This wasn't an easy course either. Rated 69.3, slope 137, yds 6592.

So, a 77 by a guy whose handicap is in the high teens after just two rounds and 4 hours with the Player....I'd say you've got a winner.

Now, take into consideration that I've spent about 3 weeks with the XLR8R and hit it about 1/2 hour each day....Coincidence?

Summary: John, it works.....everything I've received from you has assisted in helping my game. Honestly, a 77 by a guy who only plays about 15 times a year?

GREAT JOB!!!!!

My sincere thanks and gratitude,

Matt

1.5 hours a week of using the handy Tour Tempo Player and the results are in. How do scores of 81, 78, 74, 75, 79, 73 sound?! Those are the posted scores I've had over the past six times I've gone out.

The bottom line is that the Tour Tempo system works. My playing partners have noticed it and we've discussed it at length over the lunches they've had to buy me! The Tour Tempo "Player" is very simple to use and absolutely "ingrains" the tones into your swing.

I hate to say that it's a "no brainer", but it is just that. So simple, yet so effective. It's just a little difficult putting into a short, concise paragraph my elation with how my game has improved over the past several months....
